O produto interno bruto / capita é um valor muito importante quando se analisa o bem-estar de um país e o nível de vida dos seus cidadãos. Ao analisar estes valores, é relevante comparar o PIB com a Paridade do Poder de Compra (PPC) per capita, para melhor estabelecer o padrão em que vivem os residentes de um país.
